About Rent Reveal

Rent Reveal exists to answer one question honestly: is this rent reasonable for this apartment, in this Vancouver neighbourhood, right now? Renters are usually asked to decide in a day, with no visibility into what comparable units are going for. This site gives that comparison in a few seconds.

Based on 427 Vancouver-area rental listings for everything published here, collected up to August 2026. Rent Reveal's full dataset currently holds 427 listings across 17 neighbourhoods.

    What Rent Reveal does

You describe an apartment — neighbourhood, rent, bedrooms, bathrooms, size and features. Rent Reveal finds the most similar listings in its dataset of 427 Vancouver-area rentals, removes outliers, and shows the median rent of those comparables, the range they cover, and where your rent lands against them.

    Who it's for

    • Renters deciding whether to sign a lease at the asking price.
    • Tenants weighing a renewal or wondering whether to move.
    • People comparing neighbourhoods before starting a search.
    • Small landlords sanity-checking an asking rent against the local market.

    How we handle the data

Every figure comes from advertised listings, and pages are only published when there are enough comparable listings to be meaningful. Where the data can't support a claim, the site says so rather than filling the gap with an estimate. The methodology page documents the collection, cleaning, scoring and sample-size rules in full.

Using the calculator requires no account and no personal details — you never tell us who you are or where you live, only the characteristics of the apartment being checked.

    What Rent Reveal is not

It is not a listing site, a rental application service, or a source of legal or tenancy advice. It reports what comparable apartments are advertised for. Decisions about a lease, a rent increase or a dispute should involve the BC Residential Tenancy Branch or qualified advice.
